2 issues of 1960s science fiction zine. Side-stapled letter size. Each issue approx 100 pages. Elaborately produced and printed with op art effects, hand-drawn lettering and fold outs, on multi colored paper. Cartoons and photos throughout. Seems to be exceedlingly rare as I find no other listings for original issues available online. Contents Include: #8 - with separately bound "comics" volume (1962) Bhob Stewart cover (who supposedly coined the term "underground comics"), Theological Science Fiction by James Blish, How Westlake's Spy Got into Galaxy's Elevator by Frederik Pohl, Doing Nothing Defined by L. Sprague De Camp, Painful Parts by Avram Davidson, Portraits of Alfred Bester and Avram Davidson by Bhob Stewart, Books column by Lin Carter, Notes on Tolkien by Lin Carter, A dissertation on the work of Clark Ashtom Smith by H. P. Norton, Letters from Avram Davidson, Jack Chalker, James Blish, Paul Williams, Ed Wood (doubt it's THAT Ed Wood. Idaho Falls address); long commentary on Fletcher Hanks' work in Fantastic Comics; #9 (1963) Two long poems by Roger Ebert called Kreegh Kill and a charming account from the editor of a dinner and trip to Greenwich Village with a young Ebert where he kept getting hit on by "gay types" because he was so wholesome looking; Lin Carter story; Notes on Tolkien by Lin Carter; Letter from Donald Westlake; and much more; From the Library of John Boardman, a frequent 'zine contributor and play-by-mail game innovator. All show the expected toning. Speckling / foxing to the cover of issue 8. Cover pulled away from staples on "comics" volume. Stored in manilla folder labelled "Xero" as found.
